Sunshine, Motorcycles and Race Cars

This past week we took the show on the road, packed up the car and went to Sunshine state.  Florida is the hottest spot for everything motorsports related early on in the 2021 season.  It has already been the host of three NASCAR events, two Monster Energy Supercross rounds, two different IMSA Events and now the season kickoff to the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. 

The main reason for the trip was to attend numerous meetings surrounding the self-proclaimed “World’s Largest Motorcycle Event” AKA Bike Week in Daytona Beach!  I had just been to Daytona a few weeks before for my real job and attended speed weeks.  This was my first time at Bike Week, what an amazing spectacle and it truly is an awesome LIFESTYLE event. 

We had numerous meetings surrounding new apparel designs ideas, new distribution opportunities, possible celebrity endorsements and ambassador collaboration.  We chose not to exhibit this year as we were really just unsure of the event status and turnout.  It’s important that when we put our live event activation plan together that we execute at a high level. We will most likely be attending in a much larger way in 2022 and look forward to seeing many of our friends and growing #RUSTYNATION. 

Later in the week, we had a few meetings at the NHRA Gatornationals.  It was great connecting with some old friends, meeting some new contacts and just overall forgetting all the bull shit that currently exists in todays world.  The sun was shining, the wheelies were bitchin, the beer was cold, and the cigars were plentiful!  

But what was my favorite part? Let me tell you! In a world full of constantly keeping our foot on the gas, grinding out the next project and always asking, what’s next?  It was an enjoyable week, we got to spend time with people who are uniquely passionate about their LIFESTYLE.  Where it was the guy completely covered in tattoos riding a Black Street Glide or the ultra-successful business owner unloading his three COPO Camaro’s it was a great reminder that all of these people love their life.  They are an example of why we created Rusty Pistons Apparel Company, to give every petrol head a brand that is truly representative of their life!
